The revolution could not have been more literally for "Prenzlberg". Since the period of promoterism the eastern district was a neglected working class area until in 1989 the rebuild began in the heart of the city. Both, young locals and people from all over the world feel attracted to Prenzlauer Berg. The district was titled as the "most fertile region of Europe" and it, in fact, creates a feeling like the babyboom took place 50 years too late. Hilarious and wild for favourable prices: Thats wat makes the nightlife so attractive. The most traditional one is the 25,000 km" ensemble of the Kulturbrauerei. The monument of industry and architecture obtains clubs, cinemas and theatres. At the same time the Kesselhaus is an eventroom for several concerts. In the same area is the theatre RambaZamba - an integrative theatre project where actors use their handicaps creatively for their plays. Another popular place for night owls is the Kollwitzplatz where statuary Käthe Kollwitz lived.

The oldest streets in Prenzlauer Berg are the Kastanienallee and the Helmholtzplatz. So it is not a suprise that clubs in this area are locals of Rammstein, the Beatsteaks and Rosenstolz.

The shopping centre is located all around the train station Schönhauser Allee. Second hand stores and boutiques are dominating the area. If you do not want to buy the usual clothing from H&M and C&A you will find some unique pieces. Who likes it a bit more imposing though, one can go shopping in the usual surrounding of the Schönhauser Allee Arcarden.

Cocktailbars and Cafés underline the image of this scene district. With 14 km the Schönhauser Allee is one of the longest streets in Berlin and it has been creating an unique adventure between the high train U2 and the popular sausage booth Konnopke for more than 100 years.
